New Jewelry & Swap Shop Talk

I created a lot of jewelry pieces for the Nate's Swap & Shop event. I enjoyed coming up with all these different ideas and I was so excited to get them sold. Honestly, I sold zero pieces! It was really disappointing, but do not misunderstand, it was a learning experience that I had to experience. Several things that upset me about this event including: the unprofessional reservation service online, the environment, the layout of the place, and the people.

I reserved my spot online, simple right? But then when I arrived they had nothing that specified I had reserved a spot. The time they had on their site to show up was wrong because when I arrived everyone was there. The people that were observing the booths all had an objective, they knew what they wanted. Some people stopped and looked but most just walked by. I tried to be friendly and engage in conversation but some people were just rude. I did not let that phase me and just continued to be positive. Oh my god it was so hard to set up my booth which was not much at all but a table. The landscape was not flat and the gravel did not help much at all.

These are some of the pieces of jewelry I made for the event. It is very hard to sit down and prepare for an event like this or even one that is greater than this. Next time I will have to give myself much more than a week to prepare. Overall I enjoyed being out and experiencing this! I really would like to go to an art fair or convention. Custom Order Form

PSJ @ Nate's Swap Shop - June 14th

ParadoxicalSins is going to be at Nate's Swap Shop Saturday June 14th from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Make sure you mark your calendar for that date and get your wrist, neck, ears, fingers, and keyrings there :). Originally I was all about custom made jewelry but here recently I have changed it up. I still take custom orders but I hardly get those anymore because people seem to like what I have. So at the Swap Shop meet I will have a sign-up sheet for custom order request. You can choose materials from the jewelry you see there and I will write your information down and carry out your request when I get home. But for whatever reason you are not there for me to pick your brain (haha) you can click this link > PSJ Store Custom Order Form and submit your custom order request. When it is submitted and I have looked it over I will contact you so that we can begin the process of putting together your prized possession.

I finally have my new website up... I am in love with it. I just updated the look and some other things so make sure you click click scroll over to my site > ParadoxicalSins.

First Blog from PSJ

This past year I have come a long way from doing really low budget bracelets to high quality jewelry and accessories. I have expanded my skills into other areas of handmade crafts and projects. I have learned what to do and what not to do. I have had the chance to play with pricing and even cheated myself out of what my items were really worth. I am just so amazed at how much I have learned and grown. It is hard and some days I truly feel like quitting but the passion is extremely too strong. I am not making money enough to where I can truly say I do not need to do anything else but it does not matter because I will get there. PSJ is my baby and I am watching it grow and take off.

The next thing I will be venturing off into is cosmetics. I love candles and no one can possibly have enough of those but my very first project is lip balm and lip stick. This should be fun!! I like the idea of natural products so my thing is going to be "ALL NATURALE". When I walk in the store and I see that something natural is it just makes me feel so much better about what I am buying. Viewing the package label and knowing there are no extra ingredients that I can barely pronounce is great. This allows me to feel extremely comfortable with what I am buying. It is even better when I buy the item and realize that I like it. This is the one thing I would like to achieve with all my products.
